So we're bombing [ISIS targets] again. Great. That won't incite another round of attacks in European cities. Infantile, murderous, wounded 'masculinity'.That tweet was astounding because it was written not by some airheaded ignoramus but by a credentialed, uncommonly bright university PhD. My tweeted response read:
The murderous Islamist pigs don't need incitement to provoke their murderous acts. It's simply their quotidian way.On rereading that response I saw it was not quite right — or more accurately, merely the most I could say in a 140-character tweet; ergo, this clarifying entry. It's not so much that ISIS doesn't need any incitement to provoke their murderous acts as it is that ISIS is provoked to commit those murderous acts by what is for them a perpetual incitement: the existence of people anywhere in the world who refuse to accept Islam as the One True Religion and so submit to living their lives, both private and public, in strict adherence to the tenets set forth in the Qur'an, the supreme authority in Islam on all things — personal, private, and public — and in Sharia, the Islamic legal code grounded in and derived from the Qur'an — or rather, the tenets set forth in the Qur'an and in Sharia as interpreted by ISIS which constitute ISIS's corrupt version of Islam, a version condemned by almost all Islamic scholars and clerics (although not nearly as often or as loudly as it ought to be) as being a gross perversion of Islam, even un-Islamic. So you see, what we're dealing with in ISIS (and their offshoots and followers) is a gang of perverted religious fanatics; perverted, murderous religious fanatics and there's but a single way to deal with such: kill them, kill them all any way it can be accomplished and take no prisoners wherever and whenever they raise their evil heads so that their pernicious evil — the most pernicious evil extant in the world today — is obliterated entirely. Only in that way will the world be truly free of them and the threat they pose to all civilized societies.
