We've a stock answer for those rare occasions we're asked whether we follow sports or not. It runs: The sum total of our knowledge of sports consists of us knowing that baseball is played with a bat, and football...isn't. That notwithstanding, we, for reasons unfathomable, love movies about baseball and harbor a curious nostalgia for the game which is all the more remarkable as we've never been to a ballgame in our life nor have we ever listened to a ballgame on radio or watched a complete ballgame on TV, all of which might go some way toward explaining why we found the following video (the link to which was sent us by the PR arm of the Boston Symphony Orchestra) so satisfying. We trust you will as well (and also trust that the Japanese-American baseball fan who pops up needs no identifying).
(And, yes, we're going to watch this World Series. Go Sox!)
