For the hundredth or so time, we spent a few hours today listening to Glenn Gould's extraordinary reading of Book I of Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier
and for the hundredth or so time marveled at Gould's astonishing performance which is, in our estimation, nonpareil in the entire recorded legacy of performance of this work, Landowska's included. And, immodestly, we think we've uncovered the secret behind that nonpareil performance which secret we spelled out in an S&F entry of April 2008 titled "Gould's Secret Revealed" the link to which entry is now up on our sidebar as our new Featured Past Post.
