Let me heartily second weblogger George Hunka's sentiments eloquently expressed here. What began as a thinly veiled challenge via eMail to another weblogger has, because of that weblogger's ill-considered use of his permission-granted publication of that eMail, and a subsequent reference to the ensuing brouhaha by 800-pound-gorilla culture weblogger, New Yorker music critic Alex Ross, grown in interest beyond all sane proportion, and the initial point and intent gone distorted and all askew.

So, as Mr. Hunka (with whom I almost always find myself in agreement on the larger cultural issues, this one included) rightly declared: As you were.
